MiAuto is a company within Grupo Santander Uruguay whose primary objective is to manage the entire vehicle financing process. With a view to developing a new collaborative business model involving car dealerships and e-commerce platforms, the need arose to integrate the advanced digital capabilities offered by modern banking platforms—such as data management, digital onboarding and integrated partner systems—into its core banking system.
Technological integration was a key aspect of this project. The digital capabilities of the Bantotal banking platform were connected to the financial institution’s legacy core system, also encompassing integration with car dealerships, e-commerce platforms, risk assessment services, automotive market data providers, vehicle valuation systems and other third-party systems.
Country: Uruguay.
Sector: Retail Banking, Car Finance.
Solution: Car Loan.
“The MiAuto project was very interesting because it not only involved facilitating the development of an embedded finance business model, which involves non-financial companies, but also presented the challenge of integrating digital capabilities into the legacy core system of the Santander Consumer division.”

A Robust and Adaptable System
Sebastián Reinaldo, Manager at MiAuto, highlights how Santander Consumer and Bantotal have managed to adapt their systems to the needs of end consumers, making it easier to buy vehicles and manage loans efficiently and securely.
